The Catholic Art Institute established the Bernini Awards to recognize excellence in Catholic sacred architecture and the allied arts, honoring the architects, artists, craftsmen, studios, and preservation professionals whose work embodies exceptional beauty, craftsmanship, and fidelity to the Church's artistic tradition.
The Bernini Awards recognize outstanding achievement across the many disciplines that shape the sacred built environment—from church architecture and restoration to liturgical design, stained glass, mosaics, murals, sculpture, and the sacred crafts. Through this international awards program, the Catholic Art Institute seeks to promote the highest standards of artistic and architectural excellence while encouraging a renewed appreciation for beauty in the service of the Church.

The Catholic Art Institute has for the past six years recognized the highest artistry and craftsmen through our sacred art prize competition and exhibition.
The Sacred Art Prize has recognized artists from all over the world and reaches a world-wide audience, offering the winners and finalists the ability to showcase and sell their work through a featured gallery on the Catholic Art Institute website.
